Dress up a Simple Tee

I love tee shirts...I think they are great for when you are feeling casual and also for when you are feeling a little dressy...


Here is just a simple grey tee, but if you add a large necklace....it glams up the look entirely!! *Wear it with jeans, leggings, dress pants...over a blazer...there are endless possibilities!!



This look costs around $21 at Forever 21, but if you already have a a tee shirt at home and a nice large necklace...this look can be yours free ;)

Knitted Mufflers

There is a new alternative to scarfs now and they are called mufflers...



You can find it at Aritzia and at Mexy Queen's a facebook group that sells clothes!! At Mexy Queen's the mufflers come in Black, gray, violet for $10 only. Otherwise, I am sure any other shops that sell scarfs will also carry this item!!

Boots!

Wanna look fabulous, but still keep your toes warm during the cold winter.....Well, thank goodness we have boots ;)

I have been going around to different stores and I know Aritzia, Zara and Forever 21 carries them. The Classic Lace Top is another must-have this fall. Prada brought lace to the runway a year ago, and it’s still going strong in everything from leggings to long dresses. The lace top is super cute and you can throw this on over a tank with jeans , or wear it under an oversized blazer tucked into trousers for something work-appropriate or as Kristin did you can pair it with a pencil skirt!! The Boyfriend Blazer & The Scraped Skinny Jean are definitely items that you should have in your closet for fall. Just by pairing the blazer and jeans with a simple tee and accessories you can look very trendy without much effort! In the long run, the boyfriend blazer can also be a good investment as you can dress it down and dress it up! Different colour blazers and layering can also help spice this look up. For example,inside the blazer you can wear a tee like the one here from Club Monaco with a long necklace or even a coloured cardigan, so when you roll up the sleeves of the blazer alittle bit of the cardigan will show creating more depth to your look! This look should then be finished off with some peep-toe pumps or black high heels. Welcome to Ivy's Closet

For a long time I have been wanting to start a blog to write about my passion for fashion. I have finally taken the initiative to do so today!

My goals for this blog are simple...here I will talk about all my musings on style, beauty and shopping - all the fundamentals a lady needs to live a fun and blissful life! I will mostly talk about local stores here in Vancouver, so you can actually go out and find the articles of clothing/accessories ;)

I don't want to sound like appearance is something that is more important than anything, but I do think that we live in a world where people look and judge. It can get quite catty out there! So what can we do about this reality? Well all we can do is have fun with it!

So ladies lets start and have fun dressing up and looking great! Remember in this world there is never an ugly duckling, only a lazy one!
